A big welcome back to all our Base 4 families after the summer holidays. We'vehad a fantastic start to the new school year! It's been wonderful to see the children returning with such enthusiasm, and we've already begun to settle in well into life in Base 4. Routines are taking shape, friendships are rekindled, and we're excited for all the learning ahead.
This week, we kicked off our autumn geography learning by asking a big question:
Where is Northumberland – and what makes it unique?
To help us deepen our understanding and express what we had learned, we created stylised watercolour maps of Northumberland. These included compass directions, symbols, and colour-coded features -- all inspired by the vibrant map art of Grayson Perry. The results were beautiful, and we're proud of how we combined creativity with geography skills!
