Mrs Agnew: July 2020
Wow, we sure have partied this week! The Little Wrens have become perfect party planners and organised their very own three day party!!! We have learned how to blow up balloons using both a hand and a foot pump. Working as a team, we figured out how to keep the balloon attached, counted balloons, explored size and compared colours. The balloons were great to use for our squiggle while you wiggle and other dancing and singing fun!
It sure wouldn't be a party without cakes! We poured, sifted, weighed, measured and mixed our ingredients. The children were thrilled to crack their own "real eggs" into the mixture. We rolled ready made icing and using various shaped cutters identifying the shapes as we worked.
In water play the children created sensory bottles that we used as colourful, sparkly, magic party juice. The baby dolls made a special guest appearance too. They had a good clean in their soapy baths with brushes, tubes, sponges and syringes, to get them all ready for their party.
We enjoyed the invitation station where we wrote cards and invites to our party guests. The children decorated their own party bags with pens, glitter and gems, independently writing their names on the bags. We also designed and created wrapping paper and a table cloth for the party, using mark making ideas, cutting and sticking. What a great time had by all!
We hope you enjoy the summer break. We are really looking forward to welcoming all of our friends back in September.
