This week we are taking part in World Nursery Rhyme Week 2025, a little later than planned as we finished our special poppy learning. Over the last two days our focus rhyme has been Humpty Dumpty, and we’ve enjoyed a variety of activities inspired by this much-loved rhyme. We have used blocks to build Humpty Dumpty a safe wall, explored printing with blocks, and taken part in activities that help us hear and identify rhyming words within the rhyme. We have also been using nursery rhyme props to bring our singing to life in all areas of Little Wrens — so many lovely voices joining in!

In other news...In maths, we have been learning all about the number one and discovering that one and another one makes two. We have been practising counting, subitising and representing the number two in different ways. In phonics, we have been introduced to the phoneme ‘a’ and have been listening carefully for this initial sound in words.

What a busy and joyful week of learning we are having!
