This afternoon, Base 4 got hands-on with geometry as we explored how nets can be used to create 3D shapes. The children investigated a range of nets, predicting which shapes they would fold into and testing their ideas by building them. There was lots of great discussion around accuracy, alignment and how each face connects.

Once we were confident with the structure of different nets, we moved onto J2E where the children used block coding to create their own digital nets. They experimented with different tools to design and adjust shapes, before testing which versions were the quickest and most efficient to build. It was brilliant to see pupils applying logical thinking, debugging their designs and refining their nets to improve them

A fantastic blend of maths, computing and problem-solving — well done, Base 4!
