Base 5 had an amazing day at Dunham Massey yesterday. They enjoyed exploring the parkland watching the deer, discovering the formal gardens where they found the rose garden and learning about the history of Dunham Massey in the house. The children had the use of the Ranger Backpacks, which contained leaf, bird and plant identification sheets, binoculars, but pots and microscopes. The children loved using these to discover a variety of living things – we even found a tiny frog.
Whilst exploring the house, the children asked questions to extend their understanding and read the information to learn about the history. Some of them had the opportunity to make a lavender bag in the kitchen.
Throughout the day, the children’s behaviour was fantastic. Members of the public and the staff commented on how well behaved the children were. We couldn’t be more proud of them!
