Base 5 have had a great day of writing a letter to Earth followed by an afternoon of art.
Our aim for our artwork is to create shadow puppets using cut out shapes. We started by looking at Henri Matisse's journey in life and the variety of artwork he created. We commented on the art and shared our opinions of different pieces. We then focused on Matisse's use of cut out shapes to create art. It showed us that art comes in many forms both simple and complex. Using this style, we created our own artwork using cut out shapes with a climate change theme. They looked fantastic! The children thought really carefully about how to present their view of climate change using shapes and colours; there were some really creative ideas.
Tomorrow, we will be starting on out puppets for our shadow theatres.
