Base 5 have had a fantastic day going back to the 16th century at the time when Henry VIII was King of England. Everyone looked amazing and played the part.
We started our day with our assembly which was a play about Henry VIII's life. The children spoke very clearly, with confidence and used expression. We followed that with creating Henry VIII's family tree. Then, we made a pomander which was used by the Tudors to hide the awful smells in the street. The children enjoyed making these and the smell that was left in our classroom – it reminded us of Christmas.
We finished our day in court with criminals amongst us. The criminals were put on trial and went up in front of the judge. They shared their evidence and some even argued in front of the judge. Eventually, each criminal was sentenced and a few even lost their heads.
