What a lovely last week of term we have had- so much learning in only 3 days!
We started our week with our science experiment- the children carried out the experiments that they had planned last week. They sieved, filtered and evaporated in the hope that they could retrieve a solid from mixtures and solutions. The children were really buzzing about what they were finding. The experiment gave lots of answers but also created some questions too. After the experiment we considered the properties of the solids to help us create our conclusions. We used a range of scientific vocabulary to help us explain our findings and some of us even created hypotheses which led us to considering different experiments.
Building on our learning in geography, which was based upon deforestation and climate change, we were able to help by planting over 150 trees on our school grounds! We really enjoyed this. After learning a little more about the trees and how they will help with climate change, we began planting! We hope that you all enjoy the new, interesting spaces that have been created by this planting.
As well as this, we wrote a detailed setting description based on our text 'The Valley of Secrets', I have to say that the children did a super job, using a range of skills to help the reader really picture the great gates of Landsbury Hall. We also enjoyed a PE lesson full of teamwork and kindness and competed our filming for our Easter service. All of this in 3 days- wow!
I had a lovely week and I hope that you did too. Enjoy your much deserved Easter break and have fun!

Not only was it very exciting to dress in our sports wear today, we also got to meet a real athlete, Sean Conwy — wow!
