World Book Day Base 5

We have had a fantastic day filled with some many books!

We started with a read with a different adult from around school. Some of us had picture books read to us whilst others had some of a chapter book.

We then read a range of different picture books and learnt how to write a book review. After we had completed our writing, we stopped everything, dropped everything and enjoyed some time to read.

We set up the Big Book Swap for the whole school, which was a great opportunity for everyone to clear out any books they no longer read and choose a new one. Thank you to everyone who donated books to the book swap; it was fantastic and very one has gone home with something we to read and enjoy.

The character hunt tested our knowledge of some of the well known books. We had to match up a character with the correct book title; some were quite challenging. We explored school and outside for our characters.

We finished the day with some maths using books. We had to calculate the mean (average) number of books that a shelf in school could hold. Finally, we had some story time together in class. We have had a great day exploring books!
