Thank you Base 4 for another fantastic week! You have worked extremely hard and have produced some lovely work.

In English, we have been looking at 'The Storm Whale in Winter' book and have been using it to plan and write our own story based around a creature. Our plans were full of fantastic ideas and it was great to see so many pens writing away furiously to get all of your ideas down. Our stories so far are packed full of different writing techniques that we have learned this term and it is so good to see so so many of you using the learnt techniques in your writing! All that hard work is definitely paying off!

In Maths, we have moved away from fractions and are now looking at decimals and how our knowledge of place value comes in extremely useful when solving problems! We have looked at the relationship between decimals and fractions and can now convert different fractions to decimals and vice versa. We are even beginning to recognise some more common fractions — decimal equivalents!

Mrs Winward and I would just like to say a big Well Done to everyone this week in Maths as we took 2 different maths tests to see what we have learnt this half term and you all did very well! Keep working hard!

Well done to everyone this week! Keep up the good work in the final week before half term!

Mr Sargeant and Mrs Winward.

Not only was it very exciting to dress in our sports wear today, we also got to meet a real athlete, Sean Conwy — wow! We then had lots of fun competing in our own sponsored triathlon. Throughout the day, we took part in...
