Base 4 Weekly News
: December 2017
We have had another lovely week in Base 4; it all began on Monday when we completed our 'Poem Off' with Base 3- we couldn't believe how good the poetry was! Everybody stood up and shared their poems in front of over 50 children — amazing! Our week continued in excellent form as we acted as history detectives around the village, this is what Laylee had to say about it...
"All of Base 4 went on a muddy canal walk. We brought some clipboards so we could write what we saw on our way to the canal. Before we arrived there we stopped at the church, we looked at the graves and the similarities they had. We then arrived at the canal and we saw Wrenbury Mill and lots of canal boats. We were history detectives and looked at some old pictures , comparing them to see what had changed through time."
After this we then enjoyed an afternoon with specialist artists, this is what Samara thought about it...
"After we had re-fuelled (had lunch) , Pete and Jane (artists) came into school and helped us with some beautiful artwork based on the art often seen on canal boats. They gave a very interesting talk about the history of canals and the artwork used to decorate the boats."
Alongside this we have been very busy sawing and building our landsailers, making music in RE and, practising for our Christmas carol service and swimming- we are really building up our perseverance and strength when swimming lengths now!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I look forward to seeing you next week.
