Base 4 News
: November 2017
This week, Base 4 news has been brought to you by Ruby and Max O...
In English, Base 4 have been learning to draft and write, thinking about their grammar and vocabulary. Base 4's teacher, Mrs Charlesworth taught us how to write a balanced argument. Base 4 set off!
In maths we looked at dividing using the 'Bus Stop' method. Base 4 managed it. We also looked at some problem solving activities and how to break these down.
We have been learning about history and geography- looking at 4 and 6 figure grid references which we have been using with our own maps. We have been looking at how our village has changed over time. In science Mrs Charlesworth also taught us about plants as we looked at our experiment. We have also been busy doing topic work and everyone enjoyed it.
On Wednesday we had very special visitors; Smoke Busters. Base 4 were also very lucky as Mrs Cador joined us to help us complete our 'Key' sketch and writing.
We were also very lucky to have another special visitor this afternoon; Antoinette Sandbach who is MP for Eddisbury. We quizzed her about how she became an MP, the skills needed to be an effective one and we even asked her how the UK was supporting the deceleration of human rights by supporting those who flee their country because they are not safe.
Finally, and not least, we all did an excellent job of supporting Children in Need by dressing up, buying cakes and donating money- thank you.
Another busy week in Base 4! Thank you to Ruby and Max for bringing us our news, I wonder who will do this next week?
