Miss Phillips: December 2018
We had a lovely week in Base 2 last week, with everyone working their socks off to show me how fantastic they are. Everyone tried hard with all of the learning that we did, I was extremely impressed with each and everyone's perseverance through a range of challenging questions and activities. Well done to all of Base 2!
On Wednesday Year 2 had a very exciting trip out to Sound Chapel to take part in the Hope Journey. The children jumped back in time to meet the characters from the Christmas story. They heard the story of each character, the wise men even gave them a piece of their gold! The children very much enjoyed every part of the morning, including making their very own Christmas tree decoration to take home. It was a lovely experience put on by the members of Sound Chapel and we would like to say a very big thank you to all of those who helped to put on such a wonderful experience for the children.
Yea 1 had a lovely morning at school on the Wednesday morning with Mrs Cador. They showed off their writing skills, writing some good descriptions about the wolf for Little Red Riding Hood and they showed Mrs Cador their amazing Maths skills.
Our Nativity practise is well under way now, we are sorting costumes (don't forget to bring the clothes you need into school by Friday), the stage is out and the play is coming together nicely. We are very much looking forward to performing next week!
This week, we will be exploring our new text further, exploring shapes, setting up our Science experiment and perfecting our nativity performance.

Yesterday, Reception spent the afternoon talking about how we can be kind. We had two new friends to help our learning called Terry Turtle and Winnie Wolf.
