Wow, what an exciting week we had last week. You may have heard that our classroom was in a real mess last Monday after the Naughty Bus had been in and been up to mischief!! Of course we got right to work and investigated each of the scenes of devastation, making detailed notes and doing drawings of all of the evidence. We then wrote some very angry letters to 'Toy Bus Tours' (who own the Naughty Bus) explaining how unhappy we were about all the mess and detailing our punishments for the Naughty Bus. Naughty Bus had better watch out or else he will be in jail, be thrown out the window or even be made to wash all the dishes for 100 years!!

When we managed to drag ourselves away from all the havoc caused by Naughty Bus, we were also busy in maths. Y1 have been doing lots of counting in 2s, 5s and 10s and learning how to record this using numbers up to 100. This is in preparation for our work on multiplication which we will be starting this week. The reception children are getting really good at recognising and writing numbers to 20 now and are using these numbers to add by counting on (starting at the given number and then counting on the correct amount). We have discovered that snakes and ladders is a great game for learning how to do this when you roll 2 dice!

In Geography we have been learning about the four countries that make up the British Isles. We have found them on Google Earth and looked at them on a map. We worked REALLY hard to remember which country is which and have been recapping every day! We also learnt that the Naughty Bus comes from London, the capital city of the country where we live, England. We are going to be learning a bit more about London this week.

The children are doing a great job of looking after seeds we planted, we now have some very happy looking little green plants. They are staying warm inside at the moment but we hope they will soon be big enough to plant outside for you all to enjoy when dropping off and picking up.

I wonder where Naughty Bus will be when we get to school in the morning, I hope he doesn't make too much mess tonight...

Yesterday, Reception spent the afternoon talking about how we can be kind. We had two new friends to help our learning called Terry Turtle and Winnie Wolf. We first explored different emotions and how our facial expressions may change depending on how we feel. After this, the children listened to a story about Terry and Winnie and an argument they had about sharing a crown. We spoke about how...
