Welcome Back Base 4
: September 2020
It has been so lovely to welcome you all back this week. It has been great to see you happily learning and enjoying time with your friends again. This week we have eased in, learning about the ways in which we are keeping each other safe in school and getting used to the new routines that comes with this; you have done a great job, listening carefully and making sure you follow these new rules; well done.
We have also dipped our toes into our new topic, our whole school topic is 'A sense of place, a sense of belonging' and our class learning is led by the times of the Tudors. To combine these two elements we have worked hard on creating self portraits with a Tudor twist! We have been amazed by the work of Holbein and decided that we could create some very life-like artwork too! The children really focused on using techniques to help them capture a true image of themselves, this was challenging at times but this made it even more worthwhile and everyone felt very proud of their finished sketches. We will complete them next week, I'm excited to see how the finished versions will turn out.
I hope that you have enjoyed being back at school as much as I have enjoyed having you back. Enjoy your weekend and I'll see you on Monday.
