Welcome back Base 3

Welcome back everyone! We have had a lovely and very busy first week of 2025 back in school.

We dived into starting our new class story, The Highland Falcon Thief, a story taking us on a locomotive adventure with a young boy called Harrison, who is from Crewe. We have already learned lots of new vocabulary and practised our definition seeking skills using dictionaries. We have also been busy predicting the story's outcomes.

In Science we have started learning about the parts of a plant and its key functions. Lots of interesting discussion surrounding plants that lose their leaves in Winter and how the water transportations system in plants defies gravity!

In Maths we have started building our multiplication skills. The year 2s have been learning how to equally group and use the multiplication symbol. The Year 3s have been learning how to multiply 2-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers. We will continue to build on this next week.
