Welcome back, Base 1! We wasted no time getting stuck into our exciting new learning for the summer term. We began the day with this week’s story, The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle, which inspired a fantastic Drawing Club session – many children even wrote their “codes” independently, a brilliant start to our final term!
In the afternoon, we discovered our new key figure, John Gerard, a famous herbalist and botanist born right here in Nantwich. We explored a map of Nantwich, talked about what maps are, and began learning about a “bird’s eye view.” The fun continued outside as the children used view finders to spot different objects around school, before working together to create their very own map using their bodies – it was creative, active, and lots of fun!
