Ridge Team Day 1

Ridge team have had the most fantastic first day at Robinwood. Once we had settled and had lunch, we went to our first activity: zip line! It was fantastic and tested our ability to be at heights. The children overcame their fears and were amazing. We had 4 tries on the zip line and each time there was a new challenge. We had to land as a star, dance our way down and throw the bean bags to score the highest.

After that, we headed inside to meet the piranhas in the piranha pool! This activity required us to use our communication, listening and cooperation skills. As the activity progressed these skills improved and we managed to solve each problem in order to escape the room before the piranhas were released. We managed to escape just in time but on returning across the pool everyone fell in because the bar was so slippy!

We then headed over to the climbing wall. This was a fantastic activity and did once again test our fears at heights but yet again, Ridge team overcame their fears and pushed themselves out of their comfort zone. Everyone set themselves a goal and then pushed themselves past it. Some of us even went up the climbing wall blindfolded, which meant we needed to rely on our team mates to guide us up the wall.

After tea, we headed out into the cold all wrapped up and wearing waterproofs ready for night line. We were blindfolded and needed our communication skills for this activity to guide each other through the obstacle course using our senses of touch and hearing. Throughout the whole course, we had to keep hold of the rope and tell the person behind us what obstacles were coming up. The children were amazing throughout this; they listened, communicated and supported each other.

We finished our night with the team challenge playing games with a bit of competition between each team. We ended with a hot chocolate and a biscuit before heading to bed.

We are all very excited for tomorrow!
