Paper Chains and science in Base 5

We have had a great start to the week in Base 5. In English, we have been learning about the evacuation during WWII and recording the facts that we will need to write about it. In Maths, Year 6 have been tackling long division using their ACHIEVE learning behaviours to help them to succeed. Year 5 have been understanding factors and finding common factors using their prior knowledge of multiples and their times tables to help themselves.

We carried out a science investigation this week to find out how exercise affects our bodies. We had some exercise to do and after each minute we monitored our heart rate and oxygen levels. We will be evaluating our results later in the week to see what the impact of the exercise was. 

Christmas has also continued in Base 5, Year 6 made paper chains whilst the Year 5 had their tennis lesson. The classroom is starting to look more festive in preparation for the Christmas Fair.
