Wow Little Wrens, our first full week together has flown by...
This week, our learning has been led but the story The Colour monster by Anna Llenas. We have been helping the colour monster to sort his feelings, yellow – happy, red-anger, green-calm, blue-sad, black – scared, pink – love. Each day, we explored a different feeling and the colour that represents the feeling. We enjoyed colour hunts, creating colour pictures and showing each feeling on our face. During our mathematics sessions, we have been singing counting songs, 'Five Currant Buns'was one of our favourite rhymes. At snack time, we have focused on using a jug to pour our own drink. To support our mark making development, we have traced lines, focusing on 'down and up' motion. We also drew self portraits. To support our gross motor development, we have practiced catching a large ball and have enjoyed time on the bikes and scooters. We have also continued to talk about families and what makes us all unique.
In other news, we have been singing nursery rhymes, have read lots of stories, enjoyed time exploring our indoor and outdoor environment, painted, use a roller to roll playdough, weeded our outdoor area, watered our plants and so much more... what a busy week!
Next week, we will explore the season autumn.
Have a wonderful Little Wrens
