We’ve had a very exciting week this week as the children experienced their eagerly anticipated visit to the Model Railway Club at Wrenbury Village Hall.
We enjoyed different set up stations with various model locomotives led by the very informative members of the club in Wrenbury.
All children were very lucky to be able to have a go at driving a model train, using the different speed controls. They particularly enjoyed being shown ‘behind the scenes’ of the model set ups too- helping them to understand the amount of work, effort and technology involved. We learnt about the first ever locomotive in particular, and its journey from Stockton to Darlington in 1825. This has massively enriched our learning around the time of the Industrial Revolution and has given us lots to get stuck into in class.
Many thanks to the Model Railway Club members at Wrenbury Vilage Hall.
