Making kites – Base 1

In Base 1, we have been reading 'Somebody Swallowed Stanley' which highlights the dangers of rubbish and waste getting into our oceans. The story follows a plastic bag called Stanley and how he is mistaken for a jellyfish by lots of sea animals, including a whale, seagull and turtle. Thankfully, the turtle is helped by a boy on the beach and Stanley is then re-used to make a kite.

We took inspiration from this story and used plastic bags that we brought into school to create our own kites.
