This week Little Wrens have been learning about how to look after our oceans. For Welly Wednesday, we headed outside to our pond area to continue our learning. We talked about how harmful rubbish can be to our world and to sea creatures, and discussed which animals might live in our pond—frogs, fish, or even a shark, as Albert suggested! We then became pond detectives and explored the area. The children were surprised to find litter and lots of balls in the pond, so we carefully used nets to fish them out, helping to make the environment safer. Afterwards, we enjoyed some pond dipping. Although we only found pond weed this time, the children showed great curiosity and enthusiasm. What a fantastic way to care for our environment while exploring the outdoors!
