Little Wrens continued their learning today about why we wear a poppy. Together we talked about how wearing a poppy is our special way to remember the brave men and women who fought to keep us safe, so that we can live in peace. We explored what peace means -words like calm, kindness and caring filled our discussion and we thought about how peace makes us feel inside. During our busy morning, the children created beautiful poppy hats and wreaths and made special cards to say “thank you” to the soldiers. We ended our session by joining the rest of the school to observe a two-minute silence. The children listened so respectfully.
Lest we forget.
