How is it Friday again Little Wrens!?
This week, we have continued to recall and retell the story of Rosie's Walk by Pat Hutchins focusing on the silent character, The sly old fox. We worked together to retell his story. Daisy said "The sly old fox leapt across the yard" Thea said, "The sly old fox landed on the rake". Wiktor said, "The sly old fox crashed into the beehives". We all agreed that the sly old fox's walk wasn't quite as smooth as Rosie the hens. Throughout the week, we have been on our own walks and thought about different ways we can travel. We tiptoed across the playground, jumped over the plank, crawled through the tunnel and even slithered around the table. Outside we created our own obstacle course and used language to describe our journey. In our mathematics sessions, we have been introduced to, another one. We discovered that if you have one and then add another one it makes two. We have enjoyed being two detectives and making arrangements of two. We have continued to develop our independence skills, this weeks focus has been to put on our coats. This can be tricky for a few of us, but we are learning that if we keep on trying we will can do it. To support our physical development, we have continued with our dough disco and sticky kids sessions. In our phonics sessions we have clapped out syllables and listened for words that rhyme.
In other news, we have role played teachers, sang lots of songs, painted with fruit, explored how to use different materials to join and build, shared stories with each other, marked numeral one, shown kindness to each other, been super independent and shown a real 'I can' attitude – wow! We have missed our poorly children this week. I hope that you are all feeling a little better and hope to see you next week.
Thank you for another super week, you amaze Mrs Phoneix and I every day.
Have a lovely weekend
Miss Gregory
