Happy Monday!
The children were full of excitement this morning as they noticed that one of our caterpillars has grown over the weekend. Sadly, it appears that the other four caterpillars have not survived. It was lovely to hear lots of gasps of amazement as the children observed our caterpillar and chatted about how he has “munched” all the food around him! We are looking forward to making more observations as he continues to grow.
In other news, our learning this week is taking us on an adventure to explore healthy and unhealthy foods through The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We looked at the foods the caterpillar ate and sorted them into healthy and unhealthy groups, encouraging lots of discussion about making healthy choices.
In maths, we explored the composition of three, while our early writing focus saw us practising drawing circles using a careful anti-clockwise motion.
Lots of wonderful learning has taken place already, and we can't wait to see what the rest of the week brings!
