Little Wrens Learning

Last week, our learning was based around the story Goldilocks and The Three Bears. We enjoyed retelling the story together, drawing pictures of Goldilocks and sequencing the main events. In maths, we sang the Goldilocks counting song and were introduced to the number three, with the children showing great number awareness as they spotted three in different arrangements. In phonics, we explored the phoneme ‘t’ and listened carefully for the sound in a range of words – fantastic listening skills, Little Wrens! During provision time, the children engaged in lots of themed activities, including sorting representations of 1, 2 and 3, matching bears by size, exploring porridge in the home corner, and using props and masks to retell the story. It has been a wonderful week of storytelling and hands-on learning, and next week we are excited to go on a journey with The Little Christmas Tree.
