Flower pounding

Wow, we have had a very noisy afternoon in Base 1 learning all about flower pounding! We watched a 'how to...' video about flower pounding and talked about what made the different colours.
To make our own flower pounding pictures, we went on a Wrenbury walk to collect wild flowers from the fields around school and used wooden blocks to 'pound' the flowers and petals between the paper. The children had so much fun and loved looking at the different patterns they had made!

This week we wanted to share our learning in science; we have been learning about forces. We looked at a range of items and tried to get these to move or change shape. We discovered that we could squeeze, blow, twist, spin and even throw objects to do this. We then realised that all of these verbs could be classified into a push or a pull.
