We've just heard that the Field to Fork project that last year's Base 5 were involved in, led by by Reaseheath College, have won the national Green Gown Award for Next Generation – Learning and Skills.
As the first and only primary school involved in this exciting, forward thinking, new initiative at the college, we are really proud of the College's achievement and our part in it. Reaseheath's unique 'Field to Fork' project aims to introduce primary school children to the entire food chain by showing them the new technology which is revolutionising the food and farming industries. For a rural, farming community school, it is important for our children to be shown 'the future' of food and farming, to be inspired by it and know what can be achieved.

Many thanks and congratulations to Jayne Gledhill, Ian Clarke, Alan Brown, Simon Radley, the department leads in horticulture and catering and all the students involved – our children (and staff) thoroughly enjoyed the learning experiences we had involving growing from seed, new farming and growing techniques (including hydroponics and vertical farming) and making and creating delicious, healthy plates of food.
