Exploring Art in Base 1

This week we read the story of Hansel and Gretel. We explored the dark and
mysterious forest setting from the story and discussed how it made us feel.
Building on our learning about different types of media, we created our own
forest scenes using paints, printing techniques, and pastels. We talked about
the different colours we associate with a forest, such as deep greens, earthy
browns, and shadowy blues, and carefully selected these colours to design
our own imaginative woodland scenes, adding detail using pastels.
