This week we celebrated and focused our minds on the reason we recognise World Earth Day. We held an assembly at Wrenbury on Wednesday to learn about why this day is so important for us to all be part of a larger cause, helping the planet to stay safe, looking after earth land and oceans and most importantly, refusing our carbon footprint to continue the hard work to restore the atmosphere around our planet.

We discussed together many ways in which the children contribute to helping these improvements, such as recycling, holding swapping events to reuse items, turning off lights and plug sockets not in use and planting new plants and trees.

Members of the Eco Council helped deliver the assembly and shared with the rest of the school some important statistics about how long certain materials take to decompose and how important it is that we all do our best to save and conserve our precious planet.
