Our day started with a lovely whole school assembly led by Mrs Charlesworth, who shared with the children the significance of the event and many of the interesting historical facts linked to the forthcoming coronation of King Charles III. We dressed up in red, white and blue or floral or party-fun clothes.
The staff planned an array of lovely coronation themed activities across the day (and week in Little Wrens) including: planting a coronation garden in B1; making biodegradable crowns decorated with seeds to plant at home in B2; making miniature coronation quiches in B3, baking and decorating coronation biscuits in B4 and beautiful floral crowns in B5..
We celebrated with an 'outdoor' picnic inside as it rained but it didn't dampen our fun. We had buddy time and all played together outside once the rain had stopped.
FOWS provided each child with a packet of wildflower seeds as a 'momento' of this special occasion. We hope the children will find a little bit of earth to grow them in at home.
A lovely day enjoyed by all.
