We’ve been busy across various areas of the curriculum during the last couple of weeks in Base 3.

The year 3s have been getting stuck into our new maths unit, position and direction, learning all about turns through angles. We’ve perfected our knowledge of clockwise and anti-clockwise, now understand what a right angle is, and are working on comparing acute and obtuse angles. Keep practising year 3s!

Also, Science has taken both year 2 and year 3 on a journey learning about plants. From learning about every plant’s survival needs/conditions, to naming exact parts and their functions, we are starting to have a good understanding of the natural world around us.

In art we have started learning about drawing techniques and this week we explored pencil use. This involved experimenting with pressure, hard and soft, and its effects, as well as different grips to create difference outcomes for drawing and shading. This will be built on each lesson to create a scrapbook of live drawn scenes from our story Beowulf.

Enjoy the bank holiday weekend Base 3!
