Base 5 this week

Base 5 have been a bit thin on the ground this week because most of the Year 6 children have been on their high school transition days. The children in school have still been very busy.

We started our week with sports day, which was just a fantastic event. The children tried their very best but also enjoyed every moment of it. The Year 6 children were extremely helpful with gathering children and setting up the races. On Tuesday, we started some writing about the bluchers, which is a plant that destroys everything (from our book, 'Boy in the Tower'). We also had a great game of rounders on Tuesday afternoon.

The rest of the week has been quiet. Year 5 have worked hard on their maths, reading and some Learning Journey work. The Year 6 children left at school have had some important jobs to do: counting up tuckshop money and sponsorship money and writing news articles for the website. They have also completed some data collection about types of playground equipment the children around school would like.

It has been a great week so far and we hope all of the Year 6 children had a great time at their high schools.
