Base 5 news
Miss Phillips: May 2021
Base 5 have had a fantastic week. We have been ever so busy, from a visit from the nurse to planting sunflowers. We have also welcomed Miss Dulku, who has joined us to enhance her training to become a teacher.
We have been rewriting two lovely books about deforestation and the children have worked exceptionally hard to vary their vocabulary and sentence structures to make it interesting to read.
In history, we are learning about the Romans, the Anglo Saxons and the Vikings with a specific focus on the invasions of Britain. This week we have written about Julius Caesar's attempted invasion on Britain.
We finished our week in the sunshine planting our sunflowers that we have grown at home (we had to use a ladle because we didn't have enough spades).

Another busy week has flown by in Base 3. This week, we were amazed by water! We began learning about the water cycle by drinking water that was billions of years old! The water we were drinking may have been sucked up by the trunk of a woolly mammoth or even supped Tutankhamun! The children loved the thought of this and we then learnt about the water cycle — the best recycling system! This...
