What a lovely start to the summer term we have had. This week has simply flown by!
Our week has been filled with some wonderful moments that we would like to share with you. Firstly, my favourite moment, playtime! It was lovely to see the boys creating a fort with sticks in the sunshine, they told me that their fort had plumbing (like the people of the Indus Valley) and electricity as they had planned it very carefully! While some of the boys were making this, the rest of the class enjoyed the climbing frame.
As well as fun at playtime, we have been enjoying our learning in class. In writing we have focused on punctuating speech; using speech to convey character and move our story on. We have also enjoyed a range of new texts in our reading lessons with 'Pig-Heart Boy' being our stand out favourite.
We have been learning about angles in maths, learning a wide range of key facts and working out missing angles too.
The children have really enjoyed our revision sessions, with one of the boys even demonstrating a new method to solve a problem to us all.
In history we have looked at the 'massacre' at Mohenjo-daro and started some pieces of art for our learning journey books. In music we listed to a new song – and were not totally sure about how we felt about it. We also had a first aid lesson and learnt what to do if someone was choking.
What a great week Base 5- I look forward to what next week brings.
