Base 5 News

Base 5, it as been wonderful to be back with you this week, we have been very busy as always and I have been so pleased to see your enthusiasm and focus. A few things stand out for me for this week, firstly maths. In maths we have been exploring measures and have done this in a very practical way, measuring, estimating and converting.
Another stand out moment came from our art lesson, where the children were introduced to artists who used textiles in their art. We used sketch books to explore our reflections and reactions to these. We also had a first aid lesson, focusing on how to get help in an emergency- the children were given scenarios and had to identify potential hazards before deciding how the would help.

Josh said; " I enjoyed art, so did my friends"

Riley said; " I liked art, I enjoyed looking at the different artists and the different stitching they used."

Laura said; " I enjoyed the class story because it was gripping and intense.I also enjoyed music, I enjoyed learning the notes and playing it altogether."

Alfie P; " I enjoyed the measurements in maths because I liked weighing different things and figuring out how much they actually weighed."

Eva said; " I enjoyed doing gymnastics in PE and also doing different games in the second half of the session"

Nancy said; " I enjoyed working about Janus in assembly , he was a god with two heads who looked into the past and future. It is where the name January came from."

Sofia, " I enjoyed learning about first aid, before this I didn't know what to do but now I do. It was really helpful. "
