Base 4 had an amazing day out to Whaley Bridge as part of their learning about reservoirs and dams. The children impressed everyone with their knowledge as they explored the features of the dam, discussing the different types and considering their purposes. They were fascinated to learn that the reservoir holds over 5 billion litres of water—especially knowing that this was the very body of water we walked around! To add to the excitement, the children also discovered that hidden beneath the water lies the remains of an old gunpowder factory. A fantastic day full of curiosity, learning, and memorable discoveries!
