Base 4 Geography

Yesterday, Base 4 took part in a public consultation about the construction of a large dam. They explored a range of planning information, including maps and details of the proposed infrastructure, alongside viewpoints from local farmers, the Wildlife Trust, the Chamber of Commerce, the tourist board, and residents both in the town and near the proposed site. The children used a wide range of skills to consider the potential environmental impacts of the dam before voting either for or against its construction. Their debating skills were excellent, with pupils confidently and clearly building on each other’s ideas, as well as respectfully disagreeing and thoughtfully challenging different viewpoints.
