We have had a great day out in Chester at The Grosvenor Museum learning how to be a Roman Soldier and marched to the the city to the Roman Amphitheatre where we learnt how the Calvary would have attacked during battle. We learnt how to use the shields to protect ourselves and then created an arrow formation to charge at the enemy.
We had time to explore the galleries in the museum and had some key facts to find out about the Romans. After lunch, we had a Roman workshop to learn about what life was like during the Roman times. We became archaeologists to discover some artefacts, we were builders building bath houses, mosaics and roofs, and then we became slaves for the Romans learning how to cook.
The children were fantastic and are a credit to our school. The Roman Soldier said Base 3 were the best group he has had all year. Well done Base 3!
