Base 3 Science
Miss Phillips: June 2023
In science this week, we have been learning about sound. We have discovered that sound is made from vibrations that travel through gases, solids and liquids into the ear. We learnt about pitch and volume. We used a drum with lentils on top to see the vibrations.
We then decided to set up an experiment to investigate how far the sound of a drum would travel because this linked to our Roman topic as they used drums during war. We had a great time setting up and carrying out our fair test. We even had a Roman army march towards the enemy.

Another busy week has flown by in Base 3. This week, we were amazed by water! We began learning about the water cycle by drinking water that was billions of years old!
