This week the children have been fascinated by their science learning about rocks. We have started to look at rock types and how rocks can be identified due to how they are formed. We are using the terms igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary every time we talk about rocks. We have lots of rocks in class to help our learning and the children have also been adding to our collections on display from home, which is lovely! We have so many minerals and crystals and even some sedimentary rocks found in gardens.
We have also been linking our writing to our art work that we did last Friday. We are currently writing a set of instructions for how to make Roman pottery.
Our Roman pottery is now all dry and we have some fantastic finished pieces on display in our classroom.
