Base 3- what a wonderful week we have had together. I have to say that I feel very proud of you all. In lessons you have concentrated, helped each other and been thoroughly engaged in your learning- this has been a real pleasure to see. You are fabulous! Not only have we enjoyed learning together, I have also been able to share your achievements with your parents at parents' evening. I want to thank parents for coming and for ensuring that school and home really are a team.
This week, our learning in English has continued to focus on woolly mammoths, we have almost finished our non-fiction writing on these incredible creatures. You have thought carefully about how to group ideas into one paragraph, you have considered your vocabulary choices whilst also thinking about how to use conjunctions to make interesting sentences by joining clauses. As a result of your concentration and engagement, your writing is excellent. Well done.
In maths we have been working on our four times table whist also developing our arithmetic skills. You look for patterns, are able to see how place value impacts on calculations and are now finding the most effective way to answer questions and solve problems.
In history we have delved in to the Stone Age, Iron Age and Bronze Age- learning about the developments within all of these time periods. The children have been very interested in this, asking questions to secure and further their learning. Well done everyone. You may find some new artifacts in our classroom on Monday; can you work out what these are and what they were used for?
Again, this is just a snapshot of our learning this week as the children have also enjoyed lessons in PE, music, RE and French as well as enjoying some lovely frosty playtimes!
