Base 1 had a fantastic time enjoying their welly time today while exploring everyday materials. We began by looking at different objects and talking about what they are made from, including wood, metal, plastic, fabric and glass. The children enjoyed discussing the properties of each material and sharing ideas about where they might see them in their daily lives. After our discussion, we headed outside for a materials hunt around our outdoor area. Wearing our wellies, the children searched carefully to find examples of the different materials we had learned about, spotting wooden fences, metal gates, plastic toys, fabric items and even glass. It was a fun and engaging way to explore the world around us while developing our observation and thinking skills.
