In Base 1, our learning this week has been centred around Remembrance Day and understanding why it is so important to remember those who kept us safe. During Drawing Club, we learned and talked about new words like hero, bravery, veteran, peace, and gratitude. The children took part in lots of thoughtful activities linked to poppies, creating their own beautiful poppy artwork to show remembrance and respect. They also used their fine motor skills to make delicate peace doves, reminding us all of the importance of kindness, peace, and thankfulness.

A special highlight of the week was when Mrs Culbert brought in Mr Culbert’s medals from his time in the military – the children were fascinated to see real medals and listened carefully as Mrs Culbert explained what they represented.
