B5 enjoyed a hands-on Roman theme day, bringing together history, art, and design and technology.
This morning, the children investigated how Roman roads were built and discussed why they were so important to the Roman Empire. They then used clay and sculpture skills to create models showing the different layers of a Roman road.
This afternoon, we turned our attention to Roman catapults. The children explored how to stiffen and strengthen structures and used saws to cut materials as they developed their designs. They produced some brilliant ideas, putting their creativity and practical skills to work.
Well done, B5, for a fantastic day of exploring Roman engineering!
