B4 Orienteering

This afternoon, Base 4 took their learning outside for an exciting Maya-themed orienteering challenge, combining maths, geography, history and teamwork as the children became explorers on a mission to crack ancient number codes hidden around the school grounds. The children absolutely loved the orienteering course and fully embraced the opportunity to learn in an active, engaging way. Working in teams, they used their knowledge of the Maya number system to decode numbers represented by dots, bars and shells at each station before completing a range of activities, from solving calculations to taking on physical and problem-solving challenges.
