This morning Bases 1-5 visited St Margaret's for a Spring Service and received a warm welcome from Reverend Amanda. We haven't visited for over two years so it was lovely to be back inside this wonderful historic building in our village. Reverend Amanda told us a bit about the church and about herself; we sang a few songs and Base 5 recited the poems 'Daffodils' by William Wordsworth and 'Smile' by Spike Milligan. Base 1 sang 'I'm a spring chicken', which we all loved and joined in with. We were also reunited with Mrs Rowlands.
The children and staff had a lovely time; there was no performance – just being together in a lovely setting. For many of the children it was their very first 'out of school' visit and, for some, the first time they had been inside the church. There was some excited chatter and infectious smiles on the way back to school!
