A musical week in Base 1

Base 1 have enjoyed a fantastic musical week full of listening, exploring and creating. We began by listening to Flight of the Bumblebee by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, discussing the sounds we could hear and how the music made us feel. Inspired by the piece, the children made their own musical wands and had great fun moving to the music while developing their conducting skills. Today, we revisited the piece and identified some of the different instruments we could see and hear. The children then had the opportunity to explore a range of musical instruments, experimenting with tempo and dynamics as they played. It has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm, creativity and confidence grow through these musical experiences.
