A crime was committed in Base 5 today! Someone had stolen a chocolate bear but had left plenty of evidence behind. To investigate the crime, we made crime scene investigation kits, which were fantastic. They included evidence markers and flags, notebooks, fingerprint dusting brushes, and boxes for the fingerprint dust. The child thought carefully about their designs and then, how to create these through selecting the most appropriate materials.
Once the kits were created, the children could use them to investigate the crime. At lunchtime, we had heard whispers that it was an adult! The children went around the school to interview the adults and investigate their handwriting and footprints. Thankfully, after many discussions, we found the culprit: Miss Gregory. She did return the chocolate bear and apologised so we let her off this time.
